A VACATION TO THE NORTH EAST OF INDIA– THE HIMALAYAN TREAT

The ‘North-East’ is a collective name for the easternmost part of India comprising the states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Nagaland, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Tripura, and Manipur.
Darjeeling, popularly known as the Queen of Hills is located in the Shivalik hills of the lower range of the Himalayas. Just like the other hillstations, it was developed by British as a respite from the summer heat in the plains. In this tour you will also get to visit the capital city of the Sikkim, Gangtok which is abundant in natural beauty and has various natural attractions such as the Tsomgo Lake, Ban Jhakri falls, Tashi viewpoint and more.

Tour Program

Day 1

BAGDOGRA – GANGTOK (APPROX 130KMS / 4-5HRS)

Welcome and meet / greet upon arrival at Bagdogra airport. Further, we’ll proceed to Gangtok. Check in at your hotel upon arrival. Stay overnight at the hotel in Gangtok.

Day 2

GANGTOK – TSOMGO LAKE EXCURSION

After breakfast, proceed for an excursion to Tsomgo Lake (12400ft) & Baba Mandir. If permits are obtained, one may visit to Nathu La. Later, we’ll drive back to the hotel for an overnight stay in Gangtok.

Day 3

GANGTOK – LACHUNG (APPROX 130KMS / 5-6HRS)

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed to Lachung (8800ft). Enroute visit Singhik View Point, Seven Sisters Waterfalls, Naga Waterfalls etc. A stop will be made on our way for lunch. Later in the evening we’ll reach Lachung. We return to the hotel in Lachung.

Day 4

LACHUNG – YUMTHANG EXCURSION – GANGTOK

Early Morning, we go on a visit to Yumthang Valley. Yumthang is the summer grazing ground of the yaks & winter playgrounds of yetis. On the way back, we will visit the Hot Springs and then come back to the resort for lunch. After lunch, a drive to Gangtok where we will check in at the hotel upon arrival. The day ends with an overnight stay at the hotel in Gangtok.

Day 5

GANGTOK – DARJEELING (APPROX 120KMS / 3-4HRS)

After breakfast, we check out from the hotel and proceed to Darjeeling. Check in to your hotel upon arrival. The evening is free to explore this Hill Queen. We stay overnight at the hotel in Darjeeling.

Day 6

DARJEELING

Early Morning at around 04:00am, we visit Tiger Hill which is famous for sunrise over Mt. Kanchendzonga. On the way back, a visit to Ghoom Monastery, Batasia Loop and then back to the hotel. After breakfast, a visit to Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, PNZ Zoological Park, Tenzing Rock, Tibetan Refuge Centre, Tea Garden (outer view) and back to hotel for lunch. The evening is at your leisure where you can stay overnight at the hotel in Darjeeling.

Day 7

DARJEELING – MIRIK EXCURSION

After breakfast, an excursion trip to Mirik Lake an excellent picnic spot, which is nestled in forested hills at an altitude of 5800 ft., it is famous for its man-made Sumendu Lake; orange orchards, cardamom plantations and tea estates enhance the surroundings here. We stay overnight at the hotel in Darjeeling.

Day 8

DEPARTURE

The following day post breakfast, we check out from the hotel and transfer to Bagdogra Airport (Approx 90kms / 3hrs). The Tour concludes with a memorable experience.
